Microsoft has revealed the first batch of titles joining Xbox Game Pass for December 2024, featuring a mix of new arrivals and some older games making their way to the Standard tier of the service. This marks the first wave of what is expected to be a month filled with exciting releases.
In the first half of 2024, Xbox Game Pass regularly added an average of 14 new titles each month. However, the pace of new releases has slowed significantly from July to November, with an average of just 9.8 titles per month. This downward trend has also been reflected in the shrinking Xbox Game Pass library, which has seen more games leave the service than join it over the past three months.
For December 2024, the upcoming Xbox Game Pass lineup includes five new titles: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, Overthrown, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, EA Sports WRC, and Wildfrost. Additionally, Forza Motorsport, Hauntii, and Humanity will be added to the Standard tier in the coming weeks.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled takes the spotlight on December 4, 2024, bringing the beloved remaster of Naughty Dog's 1999 kart racing game to Xbox Game Pass. This will be the ninth Activision Blizzard title to join the service since Microsoft's acquisition of the company in late 2023. The game will be available across both the Ultimate and Standard tiers but won't be offered on PC or supported by Xbox Cloud Gaming for now.
Following that, the cozy city builder Overthrown will enter Game Preview on December 5. Shortly after, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will arrive as a day-one AAA title, set to be the highlight of this month's additions.
In addition to these new titles, Carrion and Road 96 will make their return to Xbox Game Pass in early January 2025, after their previous stints in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Meanwhile, EA Sports WRC and Wildfrost will make their debut on the service in the coming days.
This wave of additions gives Xbox Game Pass subscribers plenty to look forward to in the final month of 2024.
